How do mail-order pharmacies work with my Sidecar Health plan?
Did you know that your prescriptions can come to your doorstep when you use a mail-order pharmacy? Just like other forms of care, prescription drug pricing varies between pharmacies. And when you shop around, you can save. Sidecar Health has no networks, meaning you can fill your prescriptions at any type of pharmacy (retail, online, or mail-order).
This article will explain how to use your Sidecar Health plan with mail-order pharmacies. You can find more information on how to use your plan at traditional retail pharmacies here.
Commonly used mail-order pharmacies (or pharmacies with mail-order options) among Sidecar Health members:
- Honeybee Health – USPS shipping is free.
- Use promo code SIDECAR10 to get 10% off for first-time patients.
- Gogomeds – Standard shipping is free (excluding insulin and refrigerated products).
- Amazon Pharmacy – Prime members get free 2-day delivery, and all customers get free 4–5-day delivery.
- Note: RxPass monthly subscription fee is not covered by Sidecar Health.
- Walmart – Has option for mail-order.
- Cost Plus Drugs – Typically $5 shipping fee.
- FreedomRx – Local pharmacy that can ship to Ohio.
How to use your Sidecar Health plan with mail-order pharmacies in three easy steps:
Shop:
- Click the Care search tab in the Sidecar Health member portal to see the estimated Benefit Amount(s) your plan will pay.
- Compare your Benefit Amount to prices for your prescriptions across mail-order pharmacies.
- You may need to create an account so the mail-order pharmacy can procure the prescription for you electronically.
Order:
- Pay for your prescription(s) using the Sidecar Health VISA benefit card or your own payment method.
Submit:
- After ordering your prescription, submit your pharmacy bill in the member portal under the “Expenses” tab so we can process your claim.
Keep in mind, international mail-order pharmacies are not covered by Sidecar Health.
