Telehealth
What is telehealth?
Telehealth is a convenient and cost-effective alternative to in-person office visits. Telehealth care includes talking to your provider live via phone or video chat, often from the comfort of your own home.

- Conduct post-surgical follow-up
- Treat and monitor recurring conditions
- Treat urgent issues like colds, coughs, and stomach aches

What should I remember when shopping for telehealth?
- There are many options for telehealth providers. With Sidecar Health, you can choose the telehealth provider who makes the most sense for you, at the price that works for you.
- If you are seeking primary care telehealth, you may want to find out if your primary care provider offers telehealth.
- If you already know the diagnosis and all you need is a prescription, you can skip long wait times for in-person office visits and urgent care and find a telehealth provider.
- Depending on the urgency of your health issue, consider a telehealth appointment before seeking an in-person office or urgent care.
- If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please go straight to your nearest ER or call 911. If it is not an emergency, telehealth visits may be much less expensive than ER visits. Many telehealth providers have same-day or on-demand appointments.
- Submitting a pre-bill to Sidecar Health is the best way to get an accurate estimate of your Benefit Amounts – ask your provider for a detailed itemized estimate.
